Hot Cointreau Cherries
This is your go to recipe for Christmas entertaining when your short on time. It takes minutes in the kitchen to prepare, but the results will linger around for hours. This is an absolute banger of a Christmas dessert.
HOT CHERRIES WITH COINTREAU
400 g pitted fresh cherries
85 g caster sugar
Juice of a small lemon
3 -4 tbsp cointreau
Good quality vanilla ice cream to serve
1. Melt the butter in a small frying pan until it just starts to bubble. Toss in your pitted cherries and all their delicious juice. Toss them around in the butter over a medium heat, them add in your Cointreau, sugar and lemon juice. Continue cooking for a few minutes until a thick glossy syrup has formed around them
2. Serve immediately over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
